Due to the coronavirus, patients with appointments at locations other than Saint Francis Hospital, ONLY ONE SUPPORT PERSON OVER THE AGE OF 16 are allowed in the practice at this time. No children under the age of 16. Saint Francis Hospital is not allowing any visitors.
During this time, we will allow Facetime or Skype (no videotaping) during your ultrasound. If you have traveled outside of the US, have a fever, have symptoms such as a cough, shortness of breath, sore throat, nausea, diarrhea, loss of taste/smell or have come in contact with someone who has traveled, or someone who has any symptoms please contact our office immediately at (302) 319-5680 to reschedule your appointment. All patients will be screened for illness at check-in.

If you have results from COVID testing pending, you will be able to be seen in the office once negative results are received.

  • How do I schedule an appointment with the Delaware Center for Maternal & Fetal Medicine?
  • Your obstetrician will be faxing a request for consultation along with all of your pregnancy records to the Delaware Center for Maternal & Fetal Medicine. We will contact you within 48 hours of receiving and reviewing the request from our office. This appointment cannot be made until the request and records are received by the specialist. Please provide your doctor with the best number to reach you during the day. If you are not contacted within a week to schedule this appointment, please call your obstetricians office to confirm that they have sent your request to us.

Our perinatal specialist are trained in prenatal diagnosis and provide services to families with fetuses who have risk factors for genetic, growth and structural differences.

    The division integrates comprehensive genetics counseling to assist in diagnoses, treatment and decision making for patients and families.

  • DCMFM has two convenient locations in Newark, Delaware just minutes from Interstate 95.

  • Where will I receive care?
  • You and your baby will receive treatment at either of our Newark sites which are located in close proximity to one another. Our main site is in Abby Medical Center on Centurian Drive and our alternate site is located in the Christiana Hospital on Ogletown-Stanton Road (Route 4).

  • Who makes the decision as to what course of treatment is taken? The patient and patient families or the physicians?
  • Our team of perinatologist offer non-directive counseling to patients and families. This means we provide you with all of the information and options available so that you can make a knowledgeable decision on your own.
