    Consultations for Maternal Medical Diseases

Perinatal consultation services are available to help improve pregnancy outcomes.  During a perinatal consultation, patients meet with one of our [board certified] perinatologists (physicians who specialize in high risk pregnancies) to discuss the specific medical, obstetrical or genetic issues.  This perinatal consultation focuses on how these conditions might impact the outcome of their pregnancy.  Working with the patient’s referring obstetrician, our perinatologists help to identify high risk pregnancy issues.  A plan is developed based on each patient’s individual needs, all focused on improving the outcomes of pregnancy.   Patients are given the opportunity to ask questions, and are educated about options for pregnancy management.

Perinatal consultation is helpful for patients with pre-existing medical and/or obstetrical issues including, but not limited to:

    • High blood pressure
    • Kidney disease
    • Cancers
    • Diabetes Mellitus
    • Bleeding disorders
    • History of pregnancy loss
    • Preterm labor or preterm birth
    • Other complications related to a previous pregnancy.

Appointments are made through your primary OB-Gyn
