Bio
Vanita Dharan Jain serves as a physician employee of the Delaware Center for Maternal and Fetal Medicine.
Dr. Jain graduated from the Drexel University School of Medicine in 2003 and completed her Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at the University of Pittsburgh - Magee Womens Hospital in 2007. After completing fellowship training in Maternal and Fetal Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania in 2010, she then joined our practice in Newark, Delaware. Dr. Jain serves at the Director of the Perinatal Special Care Unit and the Director of the High Risk Pregnancy Clinic. She is board certified in General Obstetrics and Gynecology and board eligible for subspecialty certification in Maternal and Fetal Medicine. Dr. Jain's primary research interests include maternal medical complications, specifically related to diabetes and cardiovascular disease in the mother. She continues to actively participate in department research studies as well as mentor resident research projects. Dr. Jain serves on various hospital committees to promote Obstetrical Safety, as well as review clinical protocols for both our practice and the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Christiana Care Hospital. Recent projects have included addressing the issue of maternal obesity and its implications in pregnancy as well as participation in the Value Improvement Team for review of Cesarean Section.
