DCMFM of Christiana Care is passionate about improving outcomes for babies born prematurely. More that 500,000 babies are born prematurely every year in the U.S. No one knows what causes half of all premature births. Research has shown that mothers treated with progesterone will reduce their risk of delivering a baby prematurely. Every year DCMFMCC hosts a 5K run/walk the last Saturday in June at the Wilmington Riverfront. DCMFMCC covers the cost of the event and donates 100% of the proceeds every year to the Christiana Care Prematurity Clinic. The Proceeds are used to purchase progesterone for woman who are uninsured or underinsured. Life is precious and every baby deserves a chance.
